History

Come and hear how the shed changed hands.

Amber Decks sits in a shed that once hired out small boats along the river in Noosa Heads, long before anyone thought to bring a deck of cards down to the water.

The shed's timber front on Hastings Street

Before it dealt a single hand of poker, this shed hired out small runabouts and canoes to holidaymakers wanting an afternoon on the river.

When the boat-hire business closed, we moved in, kept the timber decking underfoot, and kept the name that the decks had always carried.

Six tables went in where the boats used to be stacked, and the old counter became the urn at the back of the room.

See what stayed and what changed.

Where the boats once queued, tables now stand

A second room added on the quieter side
The urn, kept warm all evening
